And the Angels Come Down

Life can be dark,
Like a tunnel of love, hope there's love at the end
After the spark, you had better be sure that you still have a friend
And the angels come down to serve as your hosts
And the angels come down when you need them the most
And the angels come down when you give up the ghost
And the angels come down.

Let me be sure, what you're saying you say is what you really believe
Open that door, and there is usually little that you can retrieve
And the angels come down when you're first starting out
And the angels come down when you first have your doubts
And the angels come down when the first one moves out
And the angels will frown.

What are we driving for, what are we striving for, What are we fighting for, wish we knew
What are we fishing for, An expedition for, Some inquisition for just what's true.

Let us remember, what we said when we met if we meant what we said
Loving and tender, how we tend to forget once the loving has fled
And the angels come down in response to our call
And the angels come down from their place on the wall
And the angels come down, it's so sad when they fall
And the angels come down, And the angels will frown
In their tears they will drown.
